Savotta sotaväline Ukraine patch
Back in the day Savotta was also known as “Savotta retkeilyväline”, “retkeily” meaning hiking/trekking and “väline” literally translating into “implement” or “instrument”. Yes, it’s exactly as clunky even in Finnish. Back then we had this cool old logo depicting a backpacker hiking up a hill carrying a big backpack. This patch design is based on that old logo, reimagined to celebrate our history as makers of serious military gear, with “retkeilyväline” being replaced with “sotaväline”, “war implement”.
In a fusion of heritage and cutting-edge 1990s technology, this version was hand drawn by our Product manager Stefan Melander using Microsoft Paint.
We work to support Ukraine, Ukrainian units and Finnish volunteer fighters in Ukraine by procurements and donations of our gear. Thus, a Ukraine edition of our “Savotta sotaväline” patch is in order.
